Do You Want a Tablet Phone?
|Tablets are taking the world by storm. They are the only devices to even remotely challenge the popularity of mobile phones and smart phones in the eyes of most consumers. While both devices can make our mobile lifestyles much easier and more entertaining as well, if someone wants to carry only one device, they need it to be flexible. Since smart phones were the best multi-taskers thanks to their invaluable voice calling skills, the choice up to now has been simple. When you go out, take your phone.
Now tablet phones are beginning to step up to the plate. Perhaps these devices may become the go to device.
About Tablet Phone Devices
Tablet phones are tablets that also have phone capabilities. Many allow the user to place video calls and a few even provide voice calling although in most instances, you might not hold them up to your ear to talk. After all, holding up a device to your ear that is 7″ to 10″ in size would be rather awkward anyway. Instead a speakerphone function or Bluetooth headset is used. Some calling functions are supported by the various cellular providers.
Some other tablets can be used to make video calls, provided of course they have a front facing camera and the apps needed.
If you are considering whether or not a tablet phone is the right choice, it depends upon how you wish to use the device. Many smart phones offer plenty of computing power, especially some of the newer multi core phones. They are more portable than any tablet and offer better options for voice communication. So, if calling is your primary need and pocket ability is critical, then a smart phone would be a better investment. Some even offer larger screens for easier computing.
However, if tablet functions are your primary need, then a tablet phone may be perfect. Thanks to a much larger display, keyboard, and so forth, they make for a better experience when watching movies, web browsing, gaming, and even in simple navigation for those with bigger fingers. So if making calls is only a secondary need, a tablet phone might be right.
